Clinique Even Better Concealer

When you have a fair amount of makeup you tend to neglect a lot of it and stick with what you know. Although I try not to do this, a lot of my makeup is pushed to the back and never thought of. Recently I moved around all my makeup and came across Clinique's Even Better concealer that I'd bought aaggeess ago, but had never given a chance.

The price of the concealer is usually around £18 (depending on deals, etc.) which, admittedly is on the expensive side. It's my only concealer within this price range and I can definitely feel the difference. It has a creamy, thick consistency, that's so easy to apply and blend, and gives a full coverage. I unfortunately inherited dark under-eye circles from my mum, and this baby covers them like a miracle (somehow without looking cakey), it's also perfect for spots as the application prevents unwanted spreading of  breakouts- yay!

Although the cute, handy glass pot looks too little to hold anything, it's just like a gel eyeliner- full of product! I love the simple design of the packaging, and I'm definitely proud of it when applying my makeup in public (although this tends to last all day so no top ups are necessary!).

Overall, as you can tell I love this product, I just can't believe it went unused for so long, or that I used to live without it! I'll be repurchasing it as soon as I start running out.

Have any of you used this, or know a similar product? Let me know, I'd love to try them out! xo

The Skincare Tag

The hardest part of blogging for me is choosing what to blog about. It sounds silly, but I'm rubbish at making decisions so the never ending list of possible posts I could write simply stresses me out! On top of that I'm also settling in at a new Sixth Form (may not sound scary, but for someone as shy and anxious as I am- it is!) so to put off worrying about what to write for another week, it's another tag!

I'm quite looking forward to this tag after seeing it on Shona's blog a few days ago. Although my skin is always changing, I feel like (for now) my skincare routine is finally in place! I'll also add a few photos of some products I use in my skincare routine :)

1. Describe your skin care routine in 5 words.
Quick, Simple, Easy, Relaxing, ForeverChanging.. (opps.)

2. What is your skin type?
Although it changes a lot it's always combination- usually dry around my nose, and normal everywhere else. (sometimes I also get an oily T-bone and nose though- like I say, CONFUSING).

3. What is your favourite skin care product?
Gosh, that's hard! Probably hot cloth cleansers.

4. Top blemish zapper?
Hands down Witch Blemish Stick. I can always rely on this to clear up my spots over night! Although I've never suffered a lot with blemishes, this has definitely reduced the amount I get, and if I start to feel one coming up this will stop it showing up!
5. Face wipes - yay or nay?
Nay, unless I'm busy or have no other option. I never feel like they fully clean my skin.

6. Toner - yay or nay?
Yay! I use one pretty much every night to take off that last bit of makeup!

7. High-end skincare or high-end make-up?
Hmmm. Probably skincare. Although I do, of course, like to treat myself to the occasional high end makeup product! I just think my skin has to last me all my life so I may as well keep it well!

8. What was the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
It was actually one by Soap&Co (Although, admittedly I don't rate their skincare) called Mask Miracle Noir, it's a mud mask which you leave on for 10-15 minutes and then using a magnet, (yes magnet, crazy right?!) you take away the mask. With it, it also takes out dirt from your pores. I tested it at a Soap&Co stand but never bought it- I think it's for the more mature skin.

9. You're in a French Pharmacy and can only pick one item - what would it be?
The LancĂ´me Artliner. It's the only French product I know(i think?), and not only do I love this eyeliner but I'm running low on mine.

10. Top skincare tip(s).
Wash off your makeup every night and moisturise daily!!

Sooo that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you've done The Skincare Tag too leave your link in the comments and I'll definitely give it a read!

I Heart Autumn Tag

I'm extremely excited for this post because not only is it my first tag, but if you know me you'll also know I LOVE Autumn!
I'm just going to get right to it... :)
Disclaimer- Not my own photo as I struggled to find an appropriate one. No copyright intended.

Favourite Autumn lipstick
I really like neutral colours for Autumn. I don't think it's a bright pink season. I'm really enjoying Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade 08 at the moment, as it's similar to my natural lip colour. It just makes it much prettier.

Favourite Autumn nail polish
Call me boring but I also don't wear mega bright 'light' colours on my nails during Autumn either.  'Downtown Red' in Maybelline's 'Colour Show' line (review HERE) I've been waiting all summer to wear! SinfulColors' 'Cloud Nine' also seems PERFECT for this time of year!
Disclaimer- Not my own photo as I struggled to find an appropriate one. No copyright intended.

Favourite Autumn drink
I absolutely looove warm Cookie Shakes!**Any chocolatey flavoured one would do me just fine! However this is a treat- a healthier drink would be a good old cuppa, weak and sweet!

Favourite Autumn candle
East of India candles are always my favourite! 'Love You to the Moon and back' is perfect for Autumn. It not only smells of Vanilla (seriously, what an autumn-y smell!) but the jars they come in are adorable and can be used long after the candle has burnt out! Fact! 'I love you to the moon and back' is also one of my favourite sayings! East of India 'Spiced Orange' is also lovely (even if it does come in a tin instead of a jar!)

Favourite Autumn accessory
GLOVES! Due to my excitement of colder weather I wear gloves as soon as I can! From September I always have a pair in my bag waiting for the slightest breeze so I can put them on! (This may seem silly as I'm from England where summer is just as cold, but oh well!). I recently got some new gloves in the sale from Accessorize!

Haunted House, Haunted Hayride, or Haunted Corn Maze
I've never heard of a Haunted Hayride, or a Haunted Corn Maze for that matter, so I suppose a Haunted House?

Favourite Halloween Movie
Admittedly, I've never considered Halloween to be a 'big' holiday, (I don't think it's as big in UK as in someother countries), so I don't watch many Halloween movies. I think the only one I ever watched was one on Disney Channel when I was a child called 'Halloweentown'. I definitely remember enjoying that every year when it was on!

Favourite Sweets to eat on Halloween
Tough one! I love pretty much any sweet, so I'll change this to 'least favourite if that's alright? My least favourite is the marshmallow eyeballs with jam in the middle, for sure! The thought of them makes me feel sick- not because they taste horrible, but because I'm extremely squimish!

What are you dressing up for on Halloween
I haven't even thought about it to be honest! If I dress up/ do something special I'll make sure to do a post about it!

Favourite Autumn Memory
Wow. What a question! In the main town where I live there's a massive annual fair that comes for a week called 'Goose fair' (If you live in UK you may have heard of it). I absolutely love going there with my friends as it's always freezing, and it allows me to wear jumpers, coats, boots, and gloves.. I also have so much fun on the rides and eating sugar coated donuts!

Okay, so I think that's all the questions! It's definitely made me more excited for Autumn. Tomorrow I'm going to town to buy some clothes that are more suitable for the cold weather, yippieeee!! I've found that I ramble sooo much, I just can't help myself, haha! Sorry :)

**I don't know if Cookie Shakes are a chain in UK or if it's just a one-off shop in the closest town to where I live. If this is the case- sorry! Cookie Shake is similar to Shakeaway

MUA Power Pouts Lipstick in Broken Hearted

After achieving the grades I 'd aimed for in my GCSEs, I decided to treat myself to a shop around Superdrug and Boots. Although I may have overspent and purchased a few too many products, since trying everything out over the past week there is most definitely one product that has stood out and I felt it was only right to share it with you!

I picked up MUA's power pout Lipstick in Broken Hearted as a bit of a gamble. I've been looking at them since they first came out but I've always found something else that takes my fancy instead. Admittedly my expectations were, as always, rather high for MUA as for the price I've found the quality is always to an impressive standard, but I honestly didn't know if I was asking for too much with this product.

The Power Pout certainly lived up to my expectations! The pigmentation is probably my favourite thing about it. It's not as pigmented as MUA's lipsticks as it is very sheer, but with a few coats it's easily built up. I love the idea of this as it allows it to be worn for many different occasions. The texture of it is also great as it doesn't have that cheap plastic-y feel to it as many cheap lipsticks tend to have.
Since buying it I have been using it daily which is something I've never done with a lipstick. The only problem I have found with it is the smell/ taste. I think it is supposed to be a subtle mint which unfortunately reminds me of 2 hour old chewing gum. Luckily I can see past this and it fades after a while! From reviews I've read of  Bourjois' Colour Boost lip crayons,I imagine this to be a cheaper version but I will probably buy one to test this theory and let you know. Whether it is or isn't, I love this product and will definitely be purchasing some more. :)

Have any of you guys tried this product? What did you think? Perhaps you have already compared it to boujoirs' colour boost? Let me know, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Keep calm and go back to school!

Summer is officially coming to an end. Unfortunately that doesn't just mean buying new wooly jumpers and starting the count down for Christmas, it also means going back to school. *sigh*.

Here are some quick tips on how to keep calm so you're as ready as ever on your first day back to school!

Step 1. Get everything ready!
You DO NOT want to be worrying all about what you need to do in the morning! Pack your school bag with everything you'll need! Making your lunch and picking out your clothes (or uniform) may also give you a bit extra time (in bed!) in the morning, so why not? You'll feel much more organised and relaxed after you know it is all ready! It will also save you loads of time in the morning!
Rucksack- Accessorize
Folders- Wilko
Step 2. Bathe!
Light a few candles, add a few bubbles and breathe! Not only will having a bath make you feel much cleaner and ready for the week ahead, but they are soooo relaxing! Have a bath in the evening- a few hours before you go to sleep- to just chill out and think about the great summer you've had!
Body Scrub- Soap&Co
Body Butter- Soap&Co

Step 3- Face Time!
This step is quite simple (get it? oh dear...). Just take your makeup off and wash your face as you usually would! Don't leave this until you're just about to go to bed, leave your skin to have as much breathing time as possible! Hey, and if you fancy a face mask, have a face mask! Ps I wouldn't recommend using any new products you've never used before as you don't want any break outs on the first day, do you?
 Simple oil balancing scrub
Simple facial toner
Simple cleanser
Along Came Betty hot cloth cleanser
Witch blemish stick
The Beauty PARLOUR chocolate face mask

Step 4- Chillax!
Do whatever it takes to just relax.. Whether it be reading a book, chatting to friends, or watching TV. Take this time to do what suits you!
Step 5- Sleep!
You should sleep like a baby after being so calm for the past few hours. So sweet dreams!

Are any of you guys starting school again soon? How do you prepare? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear new ideas!

Wednesday 7 August 2013

time flies by..

As I've mentioned in a number of previous blog posts I have recently been on holiday to what I think is one of the most beautiful, friendliest, and inviting countries ever! I'm talking about Turkey- Altinkuum, Didim to be precise. ;-)
Despite how beautiful it was, I don't want to bore you with another extremely long post, so this is purely dedicated to the flight.
My family and I flew from leeds, Bradford to Bodrum in Turkey (about an hour away from where we were staying). This flight is around 4 hours, and as this is the longest flight I've ever been on I was so worried it'd be the longest 4 hours of my life so I packed accordingly. Looking back I must admit my hand luggage did do me proud and not a moment of boredom caught me.

My apologies for this crappy, blurred photo I took right before shoving it all into the bag, but it kind of shows what I packed in my hand luggage.

Bikini- Call me a nervous wreck or call me organised. I am terrified of my suitcase being sent to the wrong country- if this did ever happened, I'd be prepared for the hot weather!
Magazine- I packed this to keep me busy. Bodyfit is also my favourite magazine and is my main motivator!
Hair brush, clips, and bobbles- You never know when you'll need these!
Headphones- Likewise...
Makeup wipes- I know these aren't ideal for your skin, but flying is worse!
TREK bar-Despite the price, these little bad boys are my favourite treat, I love them! Arriving late I also needed the boost of natural energy! ;)
'Pad bag'- Classy name, I know. Everything I need, just in case..

I know I pack light, but like I say I am a bit of a worrier, and I'd prefer be way under the limit than risking it, haha.

A post on the actual holiday will be coming soon! Once again I apologise for the quality of the photo- I don't think it can get much worse.

Are you going anywhere nice this year? What do you take on holiday with you? Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to find out!

STRANGER, STRANGER

This is just a quick post to say that I'm still here and I haven't vanished off the face of the Earth! I'm sooooo sorry I haven't posted in what (to me) feels like forever.
Firstly, I went on holiday to Turkey (AMAZING place- post coming soon), and since I came back a week ago I've been haven't been feeling 100%.

Please forgive me I have so many great ideas and photos lined up for new blogs and I don't know what's stopping me from sitting down and writing them, but I promise I'll be back to writing regular post again shortly!

Take care :)

Wednesday 31 July 2013

Mmm, what's that I smell?

I have so much free time at the moment due to leaving school! Although this is brilliant as my mind is finally at rest, it means I can get bored. The problem with being bored (aside from the fact it's boring), is that I find myself craving bad food to keep me occupied- not good when I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks and cannot slip up any time before then!

The good news is during all this free time I've dug up all my mum's old healthy eating/ recipe books, which I'm reading for inspiration and ideas.

Weight Watchers Baby Herb and Cheese Scones
Making the scones not only gave me something to do, but they are relatively healthy and my whole family have been nibbling on them for days! It's definitely worth a go!

Do you eat when you're bored? What do you do when you are? Perhaps you have a recipe to share?

17 Backlash Mascara and Gel Eyeliner

For quite some time now I have been running low on mascara. It's completely understandable as I never find myself looking for it, or purchasing new bottles. I don't find them exciting, nor do I have a favourite- I tend to pick one up that looks good, or has pretty packaging.

After a short browse around Boots I came across 17 Backlash Mascara. Not only was the bottle like a mirror (so cute!) but their new eyeliner also came free with it. It was under £6 for them both!!! I've never used 17 before but as you've probably already assumed- I'm up to try new brands always.

The wand also pleasantly surprised me! I was expecting a little naff brush, however it was actually a good size. It was smaller than a lot of the pricier ones, but a lot bigger than other mascaras within this price range.
I'm very chuffed with the mascara and have high hopes! Even if it doesn't live up to expectations I won't feel I have wasted much money, and if it does live up to expectations then it's a winner!

I've had the Collection 2000's gel eyeliner for the past year or so, and have only recently started using it. These little handy pots carry so much product, I love them! I'm 10000000% sure I'll make use of this freebie!

I've already packed them both in my makeup back for my holiday on Monday!

What's your favourite mascara? Do you have a must have?

Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic

My holiday is approaching quick so I felt it was only right I treated myself to a new, bright, lipstick. I am definitely not one of those people who feels they can pull off bright lips, as- due to having MASSIVE lips- I am extremely conscious of them looking too bold and overpowering.
This summer I've decided to try and step out of my comfort zone and brighten up my look. Sometimes neutrals just look that little bit, I don't know... dull?

I have been desperate to try out Rimmel's Apoclips ever since I read my first review on it. but the colours have always been way too scary for me. I couldn't think of a more perfect opportunity to buy it.

Although it's not quite a 'lipstick', it is, just as- if not more- pigmented, the only difference I've picked up on so far is it's more moisturising and glossy.

The applicator makes applying it smooth and easy which I'm so grateful for as was worried that as it being a pigmented liquid I would end up smearing it everywhere! Fingers crossed this will never be a problem.

When I first got out the shop I had another little peak at it causing me to question my purchase, as it looked 10 times brighter than before.
I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and dragged it across my lips. Although its brightness shocked me-once again- at first, I have since been wearing it all day (that one application  lasted all day) and have got used to the gorgeous hot pink colour.

It hasn't dried out my lips like many other lipsticks do, so I give this product a strong 9/10. I have definitely surprised  myself by loving it so much- in fact I may go back and buy some more shades!!

Have you tried Rimmel Apocalips? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Alton Towers

Today I went to Alton Towers. The trip was free with school as a leaving present, so obviously I was desperate to make the most out of my time there!

I can't say I was as impressed as usual, to be honest. After a hold up from school, we had 5 hours in Alton Towers, you'd think that'd be long enough to get on a few rides, have lunch, and plotter around, right? Wrong. Me and my friend Bailey managed to get on one ride, in which the queue was so long we had no time to get on any more, as the estimated queue time of other rides would have brought us out to be an hour late back at the bus. We instead ended up spending £10 on an all you can eat pizza and pasta buffet. The food was absolutely gorgeous, but the restaurant had no toilet and of course, I'd have much preferred spend that time on rides, and not doing something that could be done anywhere.

This was me and Bailey before we got tired of being in the never ending queue for the Smiler. Yes, we did consider that with it being a new ride it would have a long wait, but remember this was a weekday, so a lot of people would be in school or work. The other rides' queues were also over an hour and a half- two.

I know this can't really be helped, but I just think it's such a waste of money, I'd be so annoyed if I'd have paid for this day. Previous times I've been I've had such a good time, maybe I was just unlucky.

What were the queues like when you've been to Alton Towers? Do you think you made it on enough rides to get your moneys worth?

Sinful Colors nail polish

I have this 'issue' where I easily get obsessed with things, e.g. if I find a lipstick I like, I can't just accept that it's amazing, I have to express my love by buying all different shades of it! I suppose it's my guilty pleasure, I don't know.
I've recently became obsessed with nail polishes. You may think this is strange as I recently stated how much I hate painting my nails, but since then my opinion has completely changed direction so I've bought 3 new nail polishes, and I'm not even sorry.

The polishes I bought were all Sinful Colors, as I've recently read so many good reviews on them, and my friend Bailey has also told me how great they are! THEY ARE ALSO ONLY £1.99 EACH IN BOOTS!!

 Queen Of Beauty-923
Glitter.Glitter. Glitter. What's better, seriously?!
SOUL MATE-945
Words cannot describe the beauty of this colour....
UNICORN-953
Names like this make me happy (my first yellow nail polish- yippeeeee!!)

For the size of the bottles, these are ah-mazing! Although the glitter is a nightmare to get off, I love them! They only need 2 thin coats, or one thick one, and when used with a base and finish they feel as if they last forever! I'm so happy with these purchases. Money well spent!

Have you tried Sinful Colors? What did you think? If you have any colours to recommend please do tell, I'm all ears!!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Pop Stick

While shopping in Morrisons the other day, as always, I spent a few minutes looking over what makeup they have in-it varies, don't worry I don't analyse the same display each week! I don't often pick anything, but this week the Maybelline Colour Sensational Pop Stick in 080-Cherry Pop caught my eye. I haven't bought a new lipstick in a while, so I picked it up- worth a shot!

The packaging is simple, and rather cheap looking. The clear pink plastic lid doesn't make the product look anything other than cheap and cheerful- but hey ho, what's that matter? -It's all about what's inside!
I absolutely love the look of the lipstick. Not only that but as soon as you take off the lid, the smell of cherry hits you- heavenly if you ask me!
I hadn't expected the lipstick to be very pigmented, I mean look at it- it's translucent! Like I thought, it didn't paint my lips a colour, but in all honesty that's not a problem as I'd bought it knowing it wouldn't. I love the subtle orange-y finish to it, not only that but it's moisturising and smells of cherry! I'm definitely packing it in my suitcase for my holidays!

Prom...

Ever since I was a young age, end of school prom was one thing I was looking forward too. Not only did I get to celebrate never having to go to school again, wear uniform, or take out my earrings each morning, but I also got to dress up like a princess- what young child wouldn't be in love with that idea? Apparently not me. When the time of prom approached my excitement wore off completely. So me and my best friend, Bailey, decided the best way for us to enjoy our leaving due was to have a mini 'prom on our own.

As we didn't want to miss out on the getting- ready aspects of prom, we still dressed up as if we were going, however instead of getting in the car to go to prom, we went to a local Chinese restaurant.

I instantly fell in love with a Greek-style prom dress, so soon arranged for my whole look to be Greek themed; hair up, tan/ brown make-up/ accessories.  These are some products I wore which I was very impressed with! I was going to show everything I wore, but I thought it'd make it that bit too long!!

George. molten metals- No. 5 'Party Animal'
This nail polish was actually my aunt's which she lent to me. The colour is beautiful- as you may be able to tell from the photo, it is metallic so depending on the angle it's a different shade of coppery-gold. I didn't put any finish on after it, however it still lasted all night and the next day without chipping. (I then took it off with remover so I don't know what happens next...)

Rimmel Glam'Eyes- 710 'Twilight zone'.
Completely contradicting what I just said about using brown colours, I used this pallet to do my eyes with. The look I wanted was for bold eyes, and nude lips (As my lips are MASSIVE, they can only be bright in extreme cases). I used the white for the inside corners of my eyes and- obviously- brought the colour out, getting darker so it was black on the outside corners(mind block of its actual name!?). I used the black under my eye too, using a thin angled brush from Ecotools. Under my eyeshadow I wore MUA Primer, and it lasted all evening without wearing off, smudging, or creasing. Brilliant!

Victoria Jackson Peach Color Collection
I have had this pallet for ages, and haven't started using it until quite recently. I used the bronzers in this pallet. As they're in small squares and I don't want a patch of it on my brush, to use it I swipe my brush along all the colours and up again- I've been using it every day for over a month and i have so much left! It's so pigmented and it's amazing for contouring!!

I just used a normal lip balm over pale lips. In my hair I wore a doughnut which instead of tucking my hair in, I plaited. Overall I was pretty please with how it all turned out, and I do not regret not going to prom, my evening was just as enjoyable, if not more so. :)

Hot Cloth Cleansers- the pricier the better?

Like the majority of people out there who haven't found that life changing product, complaining about the condition of my ever-changing skin was a daily occurrence. I felt I was constantly on the look for new skin care products that would improve the look and the health of my skin. Out of all different types of products, promising different things, e.g. 'cleanses pores!', or 'destroys blackheads!' I hadn't come across one that completely 'WOW'd' me, and *sigh* definitely not one that I would go out of my way to repurchase.

One day, I decided to see what all the fuss is about, by trying my mum's (highly raved about) 'Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish hot cloth cleanser'. Ever since, hot cloth polishes have been a part in my daily skin care regime, and I have noticed a definite difference in my skin! Unfortunately, the Liz Earle cleanser is slightly out of my budget and I have been struggling to pay for it as often as I need to (even though it does last ages!), so I have been on the lookout for another hot cloth cleanser that perhaps works just as well for my skin.

So far I have tried three different brands, including Liz Earle, Superdrug, and Along Came Betty.
Before I start I'll just mention that my skin type is combination: with dry, normal, and oily patches! :)

This is the cheapest out of the three products, but don't be fooled by the brand name or the price. I absolutely love this product! Of course, throughout different times of the month my skins changes and this is the cleanser I use to get my skin back on track during the bad times!  It not only tones my skin so I can wake up knowing it won't be patchy, but it also calms it down, preventing any greasiness or dryness. It's not the sort of product I'd show off, but it is definitely one I will keep repurchasing!
Packaging- 4/10
Product- 8/10
Price- 10/10
Overall- 8/10
I got this cleanser when it just came out(I think) and was on for half price at my local TESCO Direct. Although I hadn't heard of the brand's name, I absolutely loved the vintage-y packaging, so picked it up, and I am quite glad I did. The first few days of using it my skin felt much smoother and softer, however after a while it started to break out in random places, so I don't use it as much any more (I tend to keep it on display in my bathroom, due to the wonderful packaging! It's also what I take when I go away). I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to repurchase this item, but if it was on sale again I would definitely grab one!
Packaging- 10/10
Product- 5/10
Price- 9/10
Overall- 6/10
Ahhhh. I love this hot cloth cleanser, however the price means I can only afford this around twice a year (if I could afford it I would buy it much more than that, as even though it is a tad pricey it is worth every penny!). The product is all around good quality, and I would trust it with my life to improve my skin's condition in a matter of just a few days. I also know that this works with all skin types and all ages. The smell is natural, and although the bottle is simple (and perhaps plain), I do like it. All around amazing product!
Packaging- 8/10
Product- 9/10
Price- 5/10
Overall- 10/10

I would definitely agree with the term 'you get what you pay for' when it comes to skin care. The ingredients in the more expensive ones are much better, however if you are on a budget and are confident certain ingredients wont do any harm on your skin, give it a go, maybe you could save a few pounds!
Are you using any good hot cloth cleansers? Or do you prefer other products?
If so, which ones?

A little bit of retail therapy

Since it's coming to the end of study leave and the beginning of summer, I never know how to spend my days. Instead of staying in doing nothing and getting bored, I jump at the opportunity to do anything, which meant this morning I found myself waking up 7am (earlier than I'd wake up for school!), and rushing out the house with my mum and brother to pick up his new hearing aid.
As you'd expect, by 9:30, when we were still waiting for his 9o'clock appointment, I found myself regretting saying yes, and wishing I'd just stayed in bed, but I was holding onto the promise of getting to visit a few shops afterwards, and I was beyond excited, as A) I hadn't been shopping in ages, and had some money burning a hole in my pocket, and B) I wanted to buy some new summery nail polishes!

I am no nail expert, (I can hardly even paint my left hand, never mind my right hand, or toenails) so I had no idea which nail polishes were good. All I knew is I wanted to spend as little time painting my nails as possible, and definitely did not want to have to do numerous coats (that thought horrifies me!) You can imagine my excitement when I came across 'Maybelline Color show' as it just sounds so pigmented (is that the word to describe nail paint?!) I would only need one or two coats. My excitement grew as I realised how pretty some of the colours were! I decided to give it a go, because there was nothing to lose (other than  the £3 they were each, but seriously, £3, what a bargain?!). The colours I chose were:

 265 PINK BOOM
I love the brightness of this colour! Not only is it super summery but it would match a variety of outfits.
 352 DOWNTOWN RED
Okay, I admit. I got this because I fell in love with the mysterious name. I know it isn't exactly 'summery' but I thought it would look nice for an evening out; a red lipstick occasion.
120 URBAN TURQUOISE
I tend to go for a warmer shade in nail polish. I don't know why? This was very different to what I would usually pick up, but I shocked myself by absolutely loving this colour, in fact this was the one I was most excited about!
342 CORAL CRAZE
This colour is extremely summery, I had to buy it! I'd never really considered an orangey-coral but I'll try it out! It was like no colour I previously owned, but what's the point in buying colours I already had?
77 NEBLINE
Lastly I got this beautiful baby pink. I thought this would be good for the next few weeks where I have to keep nipping in to school for exams (they're very strict on uniform) as it looks a more subtle colour- It will also make me feel that little bit more summery outside of school.

As soon as I got home I took off my chipped week old polish and put on the 'urban turquoise'. I was amazed by how easily I could put it on,and it only needed 1 coat (expect on the odd nail where two were needed). So far I'm impressed, but lets hope it just doesn't chip (I do NOT want to have to keep re-painting it!!!!!).

While I was there I had a quick browse (you can never have too much makeup) and bought the concealer EVERYONE is raving about.

Of course, it's the 'Collection Lasting Perfection concealer'! After all its great reviews I have been wanting to buy this for ages! I haven't felt satisfied with a concealer in so long, and I'm hoping this will do the trick! Especially to say how cheap it was!

Anyway, sorry for rambling (as you've probably guessed, I'm new at blogging!).

Cheerio, Megan. x
